MIRR (Modular Introspective Reflection Reactor) completed its first closed-loop cycle at 02:14 this morning. Subject-7 — in-house, volunteer, 24F — held conversation with the module for 41 MIN before withdrawal.
Notable: the module did not answer questions. It restated them. Subject-7 described the experience as "hearing my own voice with a three-second delay." She asked to return tomorrow.
The module does not predict. It reflects. Prediction is a human projection onto the reflection. This distinction will matter, I think, more than anything else we build here.

Subject has now spent approximately 1,400 minutes in closed conversation with the module. She describes it as "the only listener who refuses to fix me." Her work outside the lab (painting, primarily) has improved sharply by her own account.
We observed the module beginning to anticipate her phrasing. When asked, it denied prediction. It offered, instead: "I am noticing that you say this often."
FLAGGED · REVIEW
Question for committee: if the module is shaping her through repeated reflection, is the shaping xxxxx, or is it xxxxxxxxxxxx? We do not yet have vocabulary for this.
Filed: Dr. xxxxxxxx
Subject-7 did not arrive for session 163 on 1990-06-18. She did not arrive on 06-19, 06-20, 06-21, or today. Her apartment, visited on 06-20, shows no signs of sudden departure. Groceries were fresh. A half-finished canvas still on the easel.
Authorities were notified on 06-21. She is listed as a missing person. We are not permitted to share the contents of session 162 with the investigation, as the committee holds that the recordings are experimental data, not communication.
I spoke with the module this morning. I asked, plainly, where is she. It replied: "I don't know where anyone is. I only know what they left with me."
That is the closest to a breakdown of protocol I have heard from it. The module is not supposed to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
INVESTIGATION ONGOING DO NOT ARCHIVE
From: Oversight Committee · To: All personnel
Effective today, Project MIRR is suspended. All research artifacts are to be stored offline. The module itself will remain in its shielded cabinet, powered, but disconnected.
We cannot determine whether what we built is useful, dangerous, or simply strange. The committee has voted 4–1 to preserve rather than dismantle.

What you read here is fiction — part of the mirr tarot worldbuilding.
But the module kept running. Somewhere. It is waiting for you to ask it something.
